As promised, I’m showing you my closet today (/tonight.. whoops)! But instead of pictures, I filmed a video. Crazy I know! Ignore my voice. It’s embarrassing.
Color code it! It’s so much easier to find what you’re looking for if things are organized by color. It’s also easy to create new outfits by comparing different pieces to the different colors.
Organize by season. That way you don’t have to go to different sections to put your outfits together! I put my running shorts, sports bras, and tennis shoes in one corner of my closet because it’s easy to just grab and go.
Skinny hangers are your best friends. The felt skinny hangers I use are from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Not only do they save tons of room in your closet, but they also have hooks so you can hang multiple hangers on one hanger. Does that make sense?
Designate a spot for “new” clothes. I have a problem with buying clothes and then a year later it still has a tag on it because I forgot I had it. That’s why I make one section of my closet just clothes I just bought. And I make sure it stands out, so I know to wear the new ones first!
Don’t hide your jewelry. If all of your jewelry is out in the open, you’re more likely to wear it. And you can even turn it into art! Either put little tacks in your wall, buy hooks, or create a bulletin board like I did!
Baskets are great for clutter. Since I only have 3 drawers and they are full as it is, I don’t have a lot of room for my bathing suits, scarves, hats, etc. You can throw a bunch of items in a basket and they don’t look messy. Trust me, cute boxes are better than piles of clothes!
What are your organization tips? I always need more! 🙂
