White Jeans Here I Come!

I know in the South there are some different rules about clothing since it is SO. HOT. all of the time. But I still try to follow the greater majority fashion rules. Like I try not to wear white before Memorial Day. And I haven't! Except for one pair of white shorts about 2 weeks ago. Don't hate. Everyone makes mistakes.

But TODAY is Memorial Day and I finally get to wear my white jeans that I bought last September. It's been awhile. I hope they still fit? Yikes. I also am super excited to wear my white skirt I also bought what seems like years ago! I just love white on tan skin with a bright top (coral, teal, green, purple, you name it.)

And Thank You So Much! To all of those gracious people who have served our country to provide us with safety and freedom and even the right to wear white pants. :) But seriously, you all are heroes!

I Want To Try..

Thanks to Pinterest, I've been getting lots of style inspiration lately! Which is good because I like that feeling: wanting to try something new, excited to go shopping. BUT not good on my wallet. I need to save for my trip to Oxford but I just can't help but think I need a new wardrobe to go with it! So this is my list of recent interests:

1. Long skirts

2. Bright lips

3. Head wraps

4. Clutches

5. Vintage Levi's

I Love Tribal Prints

Thank you, Forever 21 for continuing to feed my habit of tribal prints. I don't know what it is about these prints but I am addicted. Maybe I love them so much because I thought I was Pocahontas when I was younger? (No really, I literally thought I was her.)

Stella & Dot Jewelry Party

My mom hosted a Stella & Dot jewelry party with some of her friends. I have only been to one Stella & Dot party before this one so I forgot how gorgeous the jewelry is!

If you haven't heard of Stella & Dot, it's a concept a lot like Mary Kay and Pampered Chef. Basically, there is a stylist who signs up to sell the merchandise and, using networking, contacts people who would like to host a jewelry party. You invite friends and your stylist brings tons of cute jewelry for everyone to try on. Depending on how much jewelry your friends order, you get some great deals on the jewelry!

The party was really fun. We had a delicious sandwich tray (yes I had 2 sandwich slices..) and some other tasty snacks but the best part was seeing the jewelry and being able to try it on. It looks 100 times cuter when you wear it as opposed to seeing it online or in the catalog. And not everything is entirely my style, but when I put some pieces on they were so. cute. Here are a few of my favorite pieces:

And I already own this gorgeous bangle, one of my favorites:

If you would like to buy anything as part of my mom's party you can go to THIS LINK and in the upper right hand corner there is a link "Can't make it to the trunk show? Find your hostess." if you click there and enter the name "Barb" and click on the link you will be linked up with our party. Let me know if you buy anything!

I Feel An Obsession Coming On..

Lush. I've never actually purchased anything from Lush, but I have used some free samples and been in the store multiple times. And I think the concept is awesome!

The whole store is right up my alley: beauty products, yummy smelling things, cute products, clever names, etc. So why haven't I bought anything? I don't know! Probably because I don't like paying a lot of money for shower products and I haven't (until recently) really been a long, luxurious bath person.

But as I was looking around the website again today, I found some things that really caught my eye:

Godiva Solid Shampoo Bar

Since I will be traveling overseas and having to pack lightly/within travel restrictions, I would really love to try this shampoo. It has great reviews about it softening your hair. That's one of my hair requirements: I love soft hair! I have never tried a solid shampoo though and I am kind of weary towards it. Luckily for me, Lush gives out samples of their products if you go to the store so I think I'm going to have to take a little trip down there!

Waving Not Drowning Bath Bomb
Image: LushUSA.com
Bath bombs are, as far as I'm concerned, what Lush is known for. I don't think I've ever heard Lush being talked about without the bombs being mentioned. And most of them have secret surprises hidden inside! I love things like that. This particular bomb is supposed to make you tired and sometimes, like before a test, I would really some help in going to sleep earlier. I'm more of a night person; sometimes I'm up until 3 for no particular reason.. maybe this will cure that.

Butterball Bath Bomb

When I hear butterball I think of turkey, but regardless this bomb sounds like a good choice for me. I loove smooth skin and buying excessive amounts of lotion. Not to mention the smell of lotion and "custard" .. uh yumm! And being able to skip the after shower greasy hands.. excellent.

The Comforter Bubble Bar
Image: LushUSA.com
Black currants. Yum. I love that smell. And it makes your bath water pink.. why wouldn't any girl thoroughly enjoy this? Although I have to admit.. looking at this picture really makes me want to eat it? Kind of weird.

Have y'all tried any Lush products? What are your favorites? Help a girl out!

Getting Back In the Swing of Things

First OFFICIAL, non-weekend day of my summer break. So. Excited. Except I've been in laying in bed for like an hour and a half just browsing the internet. So obviously I'm not too excited to go out and do anything productive. I'm also starving and really craving my brand new box of Special K Red Berries cereal (it'll last me about 3 days probably).

Anyways, there is a lot I want to do this summer. Blogging, reading, traveling, working out, arts and crafting, cooking, etc. And with that ever important blogging goal, I want to dive into some Tumblr stuff. What Tumblrs do y'all read? I love little quote pictures and things like that. Any suggestions?

I'm also really into cooking right now. I love reading recipe websites, blogs, and books. My favorite things to make at the moment are Squash Casserole and Macaroni and Cheese.

Do y'all read any recipe blogs or have any favorite recipes? I love trying new things. I had never eating squash before I made that squash casserole recipe and now I love it!

I also want to get into this "Pinterest" thing. I tried registering today but apparently I need an invitation. (Anyone have one??) It looks pretty cool and I think it'll really help out my blog inspiration!

LONDON Countdown: 34 days. YIKES. If you don't remember my early post HERE, I'm traveling to Oxford in England for a study abroad program for 3 and a half weeks! Too excited to even explain. But I'm going to need to ask you all for help soon on what to pack, what to see, what to bring back.

I think that's most of what I had to say for now! I'm working on a lineup for my next few posts so please come on here and yell at me if I don't update soon! :)

One Final Down! One To Go!

Hey y'all! I just took my Art History final and now I only have my Fashion Merchandising final left. It should be pretty easy.. if I get a 0 on it I still have an 88 in the class.. so no pressure.

But I do have some studying to do so I'm just going to leave this video for you to watch. SO cute!
If you have finals, good luck! If you're already done with school.. I'm so jealous.

Where have I been???

Wow it's been a whole month since I've blogged.. I'm really embarrassed. I hate excuses, but work and my social life and school has been so busy the past few weeks that I've barely had time to sleep! I'm always tired. More than usual!

So of course my first post back would be right now, while I should be studying for finals. I'm a college student.. procrastination is definitely what we're best at right?

Update on my life:
- I turned 21 a week ago! On Easter Sunday! So fun. I just went out with some friends the Saturday night before to a local bar/restaurant at home (not at school) and that was super fun. Didn't really celebrate my birthday much more than that though.
- Had one final today and I have no more classes or anything until one final on Thursday and one final on Friday! Then I'm done with my junior year of college.. so weird.
- 41 days until I leave for London. SO. EXCITED. I even have a roommate now and she is awesome :)
- Just went to GoogleReader and I have more 1000+ blog posts to read... this may take awhile. Sorry Art History, I just don't want to study you right now.
- My family is hosting a Stella & Dot jewelry party next week and I am SO excited. I absolutely love their stuff and I can't wait to get some :) If anyone is interested in buying any through our party, I'll post the link on here!

I've missed you all so much! I feel like I have so much catching up to do.. so I'll leave y'all with some pictures of what I've been up to.

Braves Game

Braves Game

Easter/My Birthday Dinner

Twilight Race Weekend
(Wish you all could see the full outfit.. I'll have to post it some other time!)

Lady Gaga Concert!
As soon as finals are over, it's going to be bloggy time for me. I promise! And especially when I'm traveling in Europe. I'm sorry I've been neglecting you all. :(

P.S. My boyfriend went to the University of Alabama and I know you all are aware of the devastation that has happened in Tuscaloosa due to the tornado last week.. if you all could be thinking of them/praying/whatever you do, it would be so greatly appreciated! I have a friend who lost almost everything including her car and her house and everyone over there needs all the help they can get. Please donate time, food, clothing, money, thoughts, prayers, anything. Thanks!

Forgive me?
